October College Prep Checklist for High School Seniors | Fastweb

We have had a wonderful start to the new school year at NRHS! We welcomed 640 eager students into the building as well as a new Chemistry teacher (Ms. Bull), and two former MS World Language teachers (Ms. LaHaie & Ms. Houghton). We reviewed our Core Values (Citizenship, Lifelong Learning, and Leadership through Service), building processes and expectations during our grade-level meetings on the first day. The Clubs/Activities Fair was brimming with excitement on the 17th, and on the 18th we enjoyed our Back-to-School Night with some members of NOTEorious performing during an 8-minute intermission- it was phenomenal! We were most grateful that our Parent Association provided the most delicious snacks for staff on that long day. It was a real joy to see such positive parent-school interactions that evening!

Our internship program is well underway, with nearly 60 of our seniors going out to their chosen placements; we look forward to continuing to grow this program, thereby increasing our visibility and relationships with the community! Auditions for the Musical (Water for Elephants) are complete, and Fall sports are well underway; lots of smiling faces!

Along with all of this excitement, much work is being done with our NRHS staff around the new Competency Determination requirements from the state. We will share more detailed information as the process becomes more clear. Additionally, we are eagerly anticipating the arrival of the NEASC Accreditation team (October 27 and 28) so we can show off all of our wonderful programming, students and staff. Stay tuned for monthly updates as we continue to enjoy a great year!

Have a great month, Dr. Meyer
