Other Appointment Times
Check your school counselor's calendar for other available appointment times (e.g., before or after school appointments). Students can also email their school counselor directly if they wish to schedule an appointment at a time other than power block. As a general rule, students should not be missing scheduled class time for an appointment with their school counselor.
School Psychologists
School psychologists collaborate with parents/guardians/caregivers, faculty, and administrators to find effective solutions for challenges affecting student learning and well-being. They also provide social and emotional support for students and consultation for faculty members, and parents/guardians/caregivers.
School Adjustment Counselors
School adjustment counselors collaborate with parents/guardians/caregivers, faculty, and administrators to help support student social-emotional well-being. They facilitate classroom presentations and small groups, and provide one-to-one counseling to help students develop coping skills, manage stress, and achieve social and academic success.
Emergency/Urgent Mental Health Assistance
Emails and voicemails are not necessarily monitored in real time, especially outside of typical school hours. If you are in need of emergency or urgent mental health assistance, please contact one of the following:

General Information
The objective for the School Counseling Department at the secondary level is to assist the independent growth of the adolescent toward adulthood by offering support in the areas of physical, social, emotional, educational, and career development. This objective is worked toward by providing counseling for students who may have issues arise during the school year, by providing college and career counseling, and by establishing programming that provides students and parents/guardians/caregivers with information regarding the aforementioned areas of development.
All matters discussed with counselors are kept confidential unless the student requests or consents to the inclusion of another person or other people, legal requirements demand that information be revealed or disclosure is required to prevent clear and imminent danger to the student or others. Examples of parties to which information may have to be disclosed include, but are not limited to, the student’s parent(s)/guardian(s)/caregiver(s), school administrators, counselors and the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families. In general, the counselors recognize that their primary obligation for confidentiality is to the student, but they work to balance this obligation with an understanding of the legal and inherent rights of parent(s)/guardian(s)/caregiver(s) to be the guiding voice in their children’s lives.
